    • AVIS ANCIENS LOCATAIRES

    Date Pays   Avis
01/04/2011 anglais I'll do this in English, so that others may benefit as well. I was very well received, the landlord was very helpful, my stay was fantastic, the state of the appartement is good, with some exceptions that can and should be easily repaired. The kitchen is not well equiped. It should not be too difficult to have a four rather than a 2 pits to cook on. There should be better pans. Also good cooking knives and other cooking necesssaries should be added. Now, it is not easy to do some home cooking. Then, I also missed an iron and a iron-board. The landlord brought a very old one, but also this does not cost the world. Finally, for the rent asked, one also expects a washing maschine and a dryer. But to end on a positive note, the location is really great and for one or two people you are really comfortable there.
11/07/2011 anglais Overall we were disappointed with the standard of this apartment. We were travelling with our friends (3 couples). They had apartments in the Latin Quarter, Ile St Louis and in Rue St Honore. They paid approximately the same weekly rent as we paid for this apartment so we got an idea of what was available. We have listed our assessment as a series of points: Good points: The proprietor was friendly and welcoming The apartment is in the heart of the Marais and is full of life at all hours of the day and night The rooms facing the street are double glazed and this was highly effective in eliminating the constant noise from the street The apartment is on the first floor and serviced by a lift so moving our luggage was easy The bedroom and living room/second bedroom are roomy and minimally furnished The living room and the bedroom each have a flat screen TV. There is a highly secure door to the apartment. Bad points: The kitchen is very poorly equipped to prepare and cook food. The cutlery is of very poor quality and very old. We had to buy a sharp knife so we could cut bread/vegetables etc. The cups are very old and look like ex-hotel stock of 50 years ago. There were insufficient glasses (e.g. only 2 wines glasses, each of a different size). We had to buy cups and glasses so we could enjoy a coffee/tea and wine. The pots and pans were very old (one was rusty on the inside and unusuable for cooking) The range of cooking utensils was inadequate. The cupboard space in the kitchen was inadequate (and was filled up with used cleaning materials). It was difficult to store and prepare food as there was inadequate cupboard and benchtop space to keep food and put plates out. There was no door on the freezer compartment of the fridge so it was not possible to make iceblocks or keep any frozen products. The fridge itself was very small. There was no dishwasher (unlike our friends' apartments). The kitchen needs a "makeover" and it needs to be equipped with a better range of quality crockery, cutlery and glassware if it is to attract foreign tourists who want to stay a week or more in the apartment. At the moment it is only suitable for "backpackers" or "students" who only use the apartment for sleeping and always eat elsewhere. The bathroom is very small (which cannot be changed) and it has no door so the apartment is not really suitable for more than 1 couple.
